November 26, 2025 — Fearnots Fire Company: Foster Fire 134, assisted by Freeland Fire 136 and Medic 26, was dispatched to 624 Cedar Street for a reported possible chimney fire. Engine 2, Truck 136, and Engine 136 arrived on scene and crews from both departments made entry into the double-block residence. Firefighters shut down both furnace units and conducted a thorough investigation, determining the incident was caused by a furnace malfunction rather than an active chimney fire. Captain Troell of Foster Fire 134 assumed command of the scene as crews ventilated both sides of the home to clear residual smoke and gases. Homeowners were advised to have both furnace units professionally serviced before restarting them. No injuries were reported, and units cleared the scene after ensuring conditions were safe.
