As residents across the borough spent Thanksgiving Day with family and friends, members of Freeland Fire Department 136 were already at work preparing for a longtime Black Friday tradition—installing the community’s Christmas decorations.

Throughout the day, firefighters placed “No Parking” signs in designated areas where holiday decorations will be installed beginning Friday morning. The department emphasized that observing the temporary parking restrictions will allow crews to work safely and efficiently as they transform the streets for the holiday season.

Fire officials thanked the public in advance for their cooperation, noting that keeping these areas clear helps speed up the installation process and ensures everyone can enjoy a festive and brightly decorated borough. Residents are reminded that if they see one of the posted signs, they should avoid parking in that location.

Freeland Fire Department members say the community’s continued support helps make the annual holiday decorating effort a success—and keeps Santa’s helpers moving smoothly.
