Riverside, NJ — December 7 — On December 7, Riverside Fire Company No. 1 marked Pearl Harbour Remembrance Day, commemorating a significant period in American history and paying tribute to those who died while serving their country. Japanese forces attacked the American naval station in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, resulting in the deaths of over 2,400 Americans and the country's entry into World War II.

The next day, President Franklin D. Roosevelt spoke to Congress, emphasizing the need for national resolve and the attack's lasting importance. December 7th is a reminder of service, selflessness, and readiness every year. The observance represents common ideals of responsibility and preparedness for the emergency services community.
