Lumberton, New Jersey — November 24 — When a tree and downed electrical cables were reported over Stacey Haines Road, Lumberton Fire Department personnel arrived. To safeguard drivers and emergency personnel, the road between Fostertown Road and SJRA was closed. To mitigate the hazard, firefighters set up traffic control, secured the area, and worked with utility crews. While the obstruction was removed and the wires were secured, operations continued to priorities scene safety.

Because of the potential for energized lines, incidents involving downed wires necessitate regulated activities. Until the road could be reopened, firefighters adhered to established safety protocols. In order to keep the township safe, the Lumberton Fire Department, located at 34 Municipal Drive, frequently responds to weather-related and road-related events.
