Laureldale Fire Rescue was called to the Harding Highway area on December 22 at around 1:06 a.m. due to a reported chimney fire. Under call number 486, firefighters, Mays Landing, Weymouth, and Richland mutual aid units responded.
After arriving on the site, Tanker 38 helped with ventilation procedures to clear the house of smoke. In order to ensure that the event was limited to the chimney area, crews attempted to enhance internal conditions. While conditions were monitored and overhaul checks were finished, firefighters stayed on the scene. Several departments have to work together to organize the reaction. Units were released and put back into service without any more problems after ventilation was finished and the scene was deemed safe.
