November 26, 2025 — At 4:29 p.m. today, the Callicoon Fire Department, Station 63, was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Lower Main Street.
Upon arrival, Chief 63-1 advised that the fire had already been extinguished prior to the department’s arrival. Firefighters conducted a small amount of overhaul to ensure the fire was fully out, and county fire investigators were requested to respond.
Upper Delaware Ambulance was also dispatched but was cancelled while en route. The New York State Police responded to assist at the scene. Fire units cleared the incident within approximately one hour.
Department officials thanked bystanders who used fire extinguishers to put the fire out before firefighters arrived, helping prevent further damage.
