Bloomingburg Fire Responds to Multi-Vehicle Route 17 Crash

December 2, 2025 — The Bloomingburg Fire Company responded at 12:14 p.m. to a reported multi-vehicle crash on Route 17 eastbound near Exit 116.


Upon arrival, unit 62-01 assessed one patient who was determined to be in serious condition, prompting a request for EMS to expedite to the scene. Members of the Town of Wallkill Police Department arrived shortly after and immediately assisted Bloomingburg firefighters in rendering care until patient care was transferred to Town of Wallkill EMS.


Circleville Fire Department responded as automatic mutual aid and assisted operations on scene. Bloomingburg Fire Company members remained on location for approximately two hours providing traffic control at the request of Town of Wallkill Police until the detail was secured and fire units were released.


After clearing the scene, Bloomingburg units were redirected to a separate motor vehicle accident involving property damage. The department thanked its fire and EMS volunteers, along with assisting police agencies, for their coordinated efforts during challenging winter weather conditions.
