Narrowsburg Firefighters Contain Chimney Fire on Humphrey Road

November 28, 2025 — At approximately 3:50 a.m., the Narrowsburg/Lava Fire Department was dispatched along with the Tusten Volunteer Ambulance Service to a reported possible structure fire on Humphrey Road.
Upon arrival, unit 24-2 reported smoke showing and confirmed a working fire, prompting a recall for additional manpower. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and successfully contain it to the fireplace and chimney area of the residence.
Assisting on scene were the Lake Huntington Fire Company and the Callicoon Fire Department. Additional resources included Tanker 4 from the Beach Lake Fire Company, Sullivan County fire investigators, and BC #1. The department also thanked the Yulan Fire Department and the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Company for providing standby coverage during the incident.
