Bloomingburg Fire Responds to Unusual Route 17 Crash

December 7, 2025 — Bloomingburg Fire Company responded at 10:01 a.m. yesterday to a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 17 eastbound involving a car and a deer.


Upon arrival, firefighters found that the vehicle had struck the deer, which entered through the windshield and came to rest in the back seat. The operator was able to exit the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.


The Bloomingburg Fire Company thanked the New York State Police, Town of Wallkill Police Department, Town of Wallkill EMS, and automatic mutual aid Circleville Fire Department for their assistance at the scene.
