December 9, 2025 | The Cutchogue Fire Department marked another successful community tradition with the 13th Annual Stuff the Sleigh 5K Race, held Sunday, December 7, drawing approximately 200 runners and walkers under sunny skies and crisp winter temperatures. Now in its thirteenth year, the event raised funds for the Cutchogue Fire Department Scholarship Fund while supporting charitable partners including the American Parkinson Disease Association and firefighter cancer support organizations.

The morning began with a children’s fun run, where young participants raced to the firehouse and were greeted by Santa Claus, who applauded each finisher and presented special awards. At 10 a.m., Santa officially started the 5K as participants set off on a scenic course through New Suffolk, finishing back at the firehouse for a reception featuring awards, clam chowder, and refreshments.

In keeping with the spirit of the season, the race also served as a toy drive. By the end of the day, the department’s sleigh was filled with several hundred new toys destined for families in need across the community. The Cutchogue Fire Department thanked its many sponsors, volunteers, public safety partners, and participants for making the annual event a continued success and a highlight of the local holiday season.
