Groton Long Point, Connecticut — 20th December — As part of continuous firefighter readiness, the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department trained the Noank Fire Department in hazardous materials decontamination. HazMat decontamination procedures, such as establishing decon corridors, handling contaminated patients and responders, and upholding scene control, were the key topics of the training. The usage of PPE, water supply management, and coordinated actions during hazardous materials events were all examined by firefighters. These abilities are essential for reducing exposure and safeguarding the public, patients, and rescuers.
Back To Basics Fire Training oversaw and instructed the session to make sure it adhered to accepted fire service training requirements. Department officials stressed the significance of public caution during winter circumstances and pointed out that ongoing cooperative training enhances regional readiness.
