Groton Long Point, Connecticut — December — As part of the mandatory practical training for entry-level firefighters, the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department collaborated with the Noank Fire Department to perform Firefighter 1 live burn training. Live fire evolutions covering interior fire assault, hose line advancement, air management and coordinated crew movement were all part of the training. Designed to reinforce safe, efficient operations under controlled conditions, these hands-on activities are a fundamental part of Firefighter 1 certification.
