Groton Long Point, Connecticut — 22nd November — At its Atlantic Avenue station, the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department held Firefighter 1 practical training, giving candidates actual teaching in necessary abilities. Ground ladders, portable fire extinguishers, sprinkler system operations, and self-contained breathing apparatus were among the practical innovations. These elements, which are included in the Firefighter 1 curriculum, are intended to develop safe work practices and operational confidence in controlled environments.
The Noank Fire Department and Back To Basics Fire Training collaborated on the event. While encouraging uniform practices across departments, multi-agency training enables applicants to collaborate with a variety of instructors.
