Henrico County, VA - December 21, 2021, at 4:29 AM, Henrico Fire units were called to the 1100 block of Westbriar Dr. for a possible vehicle fire near a structure. First arriving units found a single-story commercial building (recreation center – pool building) with heavy fire through the roof of the structure. Fire crews made the initial fire attack from the exterior then conducted interior searches. Once the fire was brought under control safety zones were established as the entire attic support system was consumed by the fire. Fire crews will remain on scene and complete operations during daylight for safety reasons. There were no victims found during the search. No injuries have been reported. The Henrico Fire Marshal’s personnel are working to determine the cause of the fire. Henrico Fire reminds everyone the value of having working smoke alarms in all homes. Lives are saved every day because of a smoke alarm.
