The Bellport Fire Department continued a long-standing holiday tradition on Sunday, December 4, 2025, decorating the firehouse for the Christmas season. Taking place the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the annual effort brought members together to hang wreaths and festive décor on the station and apparatus, marking the official start of the holidays in the community.
Using ladder trucks and a bucket, firefighters worked high above the ground to place wreaths and garland along the firehouse façade. About three-quarters of the way through the job, heavy rain moved in, soaking crews working aloft and on the ground. Despite the weather, members pushed through and completed the decorations, staying true to tradition.
The decorated firehouse now stands as a visible symbol of the department’s holiday spirit and commitment to the Bellport community, showcasing teamwork, resilience, and pride—even in less-than-ideal conditions.
