December 12, 2025 —Members of the Bayport Fire Department met with students and faculty from James Wilson Young Middle School to collect gifts purchased through student-led fundraising efforts in support of Matthew’s Wish. Now in its 15th year, Matthew’s Wish focuses on collecting new toys for children’s hospitals, spreading comfort and joy to young patients during difficult times. The collaboration highlighted the strong community partnership between local schools and first responders, with firefighters praising the dedication and generosity shown by everyone involved. Department members extended their gratitude to all who helped organize, donate, and participate in the effort, emphasizing the positive impact these contributions will have on children in need.
