At 11:49 am on Thursday, December 18th the Baltic Fire Department with Lisbon Tower & Tanker 154, Scotland Tanker & Hose Tender 116, Occum Engines 41 & 42, Taftville Engine 21 & Truck 25, Yantic FAST and two American Ambulance Paramedics were dispatched to 64 Bushnell Hollow Road for a Christmas tree fire inside of the residence. Car 54 arrived at 11:57 with smoke showing from the front of a single story wood frame residence.
Engine 124 arrived at 11:59 and stretched a 2.5” hose line to the front darkening down the living room fire through the bay window. A 1.75” hose line was then stretched through a door to the interior by firefighters from Lisbon, Scotland and Taftville. Tanker 116 nursed Engine 124, while Tanker 154’s crew went to the roof and performed vertical ventilation.
Jewett City Ladder 156 and Canterbury Engine 193 were dispatched to cover Station 24. Command then requested manpower from Jewett City, so Ladder 156 responded to the scene. The Baltic Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
