East Putnam, Connecticut — December 10 — At an acquired building, a number of members of the East Putnam Fire Department (located at 263 Providence Turnpike) participated in joint training with the Thompson Fire Engine Company and the East Thompson Volunteer Fire Department. In order to enhance interior access and mobility during structural incidents, the training concentrated on wall-breaching tactics. Additionally, crews rehearsed CPR on downed firefighters, focusing on coordinated treatment and quick action in emergency scenarios. Firefighters can operate with real building layouts and construction elements thanks to acquired constructions, which offer realistic settings. This kind of joint training, which promotes uniform strategies and communication among mutual aid partners, is widespread throughout northeastern Connecticut. Regular cooperation drills, according to officials, enhance responder safety, operational preparedness, and teamwork during actual disaster responses.
