North Grosvenor Dale, Connecticut — November 18 — On Tuesday, the Community Fire Company responded to a single-vehicle collision on Buckley Hill Road close to the highway department. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a car had collided with a utility pole, breaking it in half and posing a risk to traffic. Crews created a safety zone around the damaged utilities, secured the area, and looked for any threats. In order to safeguard the public and emergency workers while activities proceeded, Buckley Hill Road was closed between Route 200 and Murolo Road. A power company was asked to fix the damaged pole, and local law police helped with traffic management and delays. Before reopening the road, incidents involving downed utilities must be carefully coordinated to guarantee scene safety. Until the situation was cleaned, drivers were warned to stay away from the area.
