Mutual Aid Assists Canterbury VFC During Active Afternoon

Canterbury, CT — November 16 — Due to a reported collision between an automobile and a power pole, the Canterbury Volunteer Fire Company Inc. was called to the vicinity of 246 Water Street on Sunday afternoon. Crews found the driver had not suffered any serious injuries upon arrival. While firefighters secured the area and dealt with traffic problems, the patient was assessed and taken to a nearby hospital.

Canterbury units were sent to two simultaneous calls, a medical emergency and a fire alarm activation, shortly after the situation was under control. Scotland Volunteer Fire Department and Central Village Fire Department were sent to help with reaction and coverage in accordance with established automatic aid agreements. The day's events demonstrated the importance of coordinated efforts and mutual aid during peak times.
