At 11:07 am on Monday, 12/15/25 the Montville, Oakdale, Mohegan and Chesterfield Departments with Mohegan Tribal FAST were dispatched to 115 Cottonwood Lane for a basement fire. Engine 41 arrived at 11:14 with fire showing from the lower level Alpha/Bravo corner of a raised ranch. Engine 41 stretched an 1.75” hose line to the front and darkened down the fire, while the front door was forced.
Engine 41 stretched into the basement with the help of Engine 21. Engine 21’s Driver tied into 41 and gave them his tank water. Mohegan Tribal Engine 1 threw a ladder to the front and performed vertical ventilation while Waterford’s Squad 4 stretched a backup line. Norwich was started as the second FAST and performed overhaul.
Engine 12 and Bozrah Tanker 126 also nursed Engine 41. Firefighters removed a canine and a cat from the residence and handed them off to Ambulance 100 who began resuscitative efforts. Salem Ladder & Tanker 121 staged with Gardner Lake’s Tanker 127 and Colchester Tanker 228. The Montville Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
