November 17, 2025 — The West Granville Fire Company provided mutual aid assistance to the Newton Wayne Fire Company during a brush fire response during afternoon.
Engine 17 was initially dispatched to establish a water fill site and remained in service throughout the operation, refilling eight tankers to support suppression efforts. Shortly after the engine’s deployment, the Tanker was also requested to provide additional water to the scene.
During its assignment, the tanker supplied 2.5 loads, totaling approximately 5,000 gallons of water, helping crews control and extinguish the fire. Department officials praised the coordinated mutual aid effort that ensured a steady water supply during the incident.
