Nov. 6, 2025 — Ronks Fire Company responded to multiple incidents Wednesday evening, beginning at 9:28 p.m. when Squad 48 was dispatched to assist Strasburg Fire Company No. 1 with a barn fire along May Post Office Road. The fire rapidly escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional resources to the scene. Ronks firefighters assisted with the rescue of cows from the burning barn before being assigned to manpower staging as suppression operations continued.
While crews were committed at the fire, additional personnel remained on standby at the station. At 9:51 p.m., Rescue 48 was dispatched to Country Acres Campground for a public service call after high winds caused a tree to fall onto a camper. Firefighters confirmed all occupants were safe and carefully removed the tree limb by limb to prevent further damage to the camper. Both incidents were handled without reported civilian injuries.
