Westfield, N.J. — December 9 — A reported car fire prompted the Town of Westfield, NJ Fire Department to respond to Nancy Way at Lamberts Mill Road. A mail vehicle was completely involved when Engines 3, 4, and 5 arrived. The fire was contained in a matter of minutes when crews started suppression efforts right away. At the time of the event, the vehicle was reportedly partially laden with parcels and mail. A minor fluid leak was addressed by Union County Hazardous Materials staff, and it was contained without any problems. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians. Coordinated action reduced risks and made it possible to secure the area effectively. The event demonstrated efficient engine business operations and collaboration with county resources.
