Hillside, N.J. — December 7 — Tour of the Hillside Fire Department Due to a reported working structure fire, two teams were sent to the 100 block of Bailey Avenue. When units arrived, they saw smoke coming from a residential building's adjacent garage. After forcing access and advancing an interior line, firefighters discovered a fire involving the garage's contents. Crews were able to contain the fire to its source and stop it from spreading into the main living area thanks to a swift and well-coordinated attack. Following knockdown, workers verified complete extinguishment and performed an overhaul to look for any hidden fires. In order to eliminate smoke from the house, ventilation operations were finished.
