The nomination described Capt. Boyhan as one who has set the bar in terms of leadership and continued involvement, initiative, and commitment to the organization. Capt. Boyhan demonstrates passion for EMS training and started an EMS competition team in Tamarac, as team leader, he continually practices off-duty and on-duty with his group and competes in as many competitions as they could attend. On his off days, Captain Boyhan further fulfills his passion for EMS by being a lead instructor at Emergency Education Institute (EEI) in Coral Springs. Over the years he has taught hundreds of future EMTs and Paramedics at the school. He also assists in tutoring these students in ways to prepare to pass their certification exams and prepare themselves to go through hiring processes. Captain Boyhan goes the extra mile to take care of his students and keeps their best interests at heart.
