Fanwood, N.J. — November 15 — As part of its continuous efforts to prevent fires and educate the public, the Fanwood Fire Department paid Wonder Years Academy a visit. Basic fire safety subjects, such as identifying smoke detectors, understanding when to leave a building, and how to dial 911 in an emergency, were discussed with kids by firefighters. Additionally, crews explained the functions of turnout gear, helmets, and breathing apparatus while showcasing firefighting and protective equipment utilised during emergency situations. In a quiet environment, students could ask questions and get a close-up look at the equipment. School visits continue to be a crucial component of fire prevention initiatives, teaching young kids about safety procedures and the responsibilities of emergency personnel. The Fanwood Fire Department expressed gratitude to the staff and students for the chance to come.
