One Transported After Vehicle Hits Pole in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY – Newburgh FD responded to an MVA involving a vehicle that struck a utility pole on South Street in the area of Thompson Street on December 11, 2025. City of Newburgh Police were on scene. Firefighters checked both vehicles for hazards and stood by. City of Newburgh Police requested Empress EMS for transport of one driver; Town of Newburgh EMS responded and transported the patient to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital. South Street was closed to westbound traffic at Pierces Road. Central Hudson was called for a utility pole that was struck by a vehicle. City of Newburgh Police are investigating the cause.
