February 21, 2026 — The Boston Volunteer Fire Department hosted an intensive ladder operations training session as part of its ongoing BEFO (Basic Exterior Fire Operations) class at Station #2. The hands-on drill brought together members for practical instruction in ladder deployment, carries, raises, and proper placement techniques, reinforcing essential skills required for fireground operations.
Multiple ladder trucks were positioned at the station to support the day’s training, providing students with realistic apparatus-based scenarios. Under instructor supervision, participants practiced coordinated team lifts, single- and multi-firefighter raises, and safe positioning methods designed to maximize efficiency while maintaining safety standards.
Department leaders praised the class for its focus and continued progress, noting that mastery of ladder skills remains a critical foundation for both exterior and interior firefighting tasks. Officials encouraged members to “keep up the good work,” emphasizing that consistent training strengthens operational readiness and enhances the department’s ability to serve the community.
