DEPOSIT, N.Y. — December 3 — Over the previous few days, the Deposit Fire Department district's crews have been overworked due to numerous simultaneous medical calls throughout the coverage area. Several times, the department's fly car and three of the four available ambulances were responding to different events at the same time.
E.B.E.S. Ambulances 8422 and 8423 at Wilson Regional Medical Center are shown in a Monday photo, each of which has delivered patients from unrelated calls in the Village of Deposit. The fire-based medical response team and Eastern Broome Emergency Services have collaborated to handle the higher call volume, which is indicative of an increase in medical need.
