Selkirk, N.Y. — November 20 — The Selkirk Fire Department, focused on FAST pack operations, strengthening skills crucial in firefighter-down scenarios. While removal attempts are in progress, rescuers can attach an emergency air supply to a downed fireman using FAST packs.

Members studied drag tactics used to transport a wounded fireman to safety and tested a number of ways to attach the pack to various SCBA settings. During high-risk, infrequent occurrences, training officers emphasized the significance of equipment familiarity, consistent communication, and coordinated movement.
