Best-Luther Fire Department Responds to Second Alarm Fire in West Sand Lake District

Best Luther, NY - On 19th February 2026 at 3:30 a.m., the Best-Luther Fire Department was dispatched to assist with a second alarm fire in the West Sand Lake Fire District.
During the operation, Tanker 3 served as the nurse tanker, while Unit 3-6 was utilized to shuttle water as part of a tanker relay to support firefighting efforts.
The department also expressed appreciation to its members who provided food and beverages at the station upon the crew’s return. Additional members assisted with gathering and cleaning the equipment used during the response, helping ensure everything was restored and ready for future service
