Nashua, NH – Early on Tuesday morning, Nashua Fire Rescue arrived at 108–110 Vine Street in response to a sixth-alarm building fire. At 6:28 a.m., dispatch got the call. When Engine 2 arrived, two buildings were displaying intense fire, and they asked for a second alarm. Other alarms were set out as the situation deteriorated, including a general alarm that sent off-duty personnel to the area. For safety, crews switched from offensive to defensive operations.
Together with mutual-aid organizations from surrounding villages, around 100 Nashua workers responded to the situation. One firefighter and three people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to nearby hospitals. About thirty inhabitants were displaced, but all residents were safely evacuated. The buildings had working smoke detectors. After a thorough overhaul, the fire was contained.
