February 19, 2026 — The Jefferson Fire Department has announced plans for its third annual “North Country Emergency Response Day,” scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at the Lancaster Fairgrounds. The free community event will once again bring together local fire, police, and EMS agencies for a day focused on public education, live demonstrations, interactive exhibits, and family-friendly activities. Organizers said preparations have been underway since last year’s event to expand equipment displays, hands-on demonstrations, children’s activities, giveaways, and food vendor participation. The department emphasized that the event provides residents with an opportunity to meet first responders, learn about emergency services operations, and gain insight into the coordinated efforts that occur when someone dials 911. Officials noted that additional event details, including a dedicated website, are expected to be released in the coming weeks, and they look forward to welcoming families from across the North Country for a day of learning and community engagement.
