Sandown Fire Steps Up With HazMat Equipment on Call

Sandown, NH – November 26 — The Sandown Fire Rescue (314 Main Street) turned on its regional hazardous-materials spill response trailer. In order to handle chemical or hazardous material spills, the trailer—which is a member of the Southeastern NH Hazardous Materials District—carries specialized tools and supplies. The on-duty personnel secured the area, isolated the leak, and deployed absorbent materials to stop it from spreading by following normal hazardous protocols. Before cleanup starts, first responders are trained to control the area, isolate spills, and stabilize risks.
