Salem, NH – December 6 — Following a report that a dog had fallen through the ice, the Salem Fire Department, located at 152 Main St., responded to Canobie Lake today. When Battalion 4 crews arrived on the scene, they removed the animal from the frigid water using a raft and wet suits. The dog was brought back to shore without incident. Such incidents serve as a reminder to pet owners and first-responder team members that ice can be unpredictable, even when it appears solid.

The Salem Fire Department made sure the dog had a safe outcome by acting quickly and expertly.
