Plaistow, NH — November 25 — Following reports of a trash truck leaking hydraulic fluid to the Plaistow Emergency Communications Centre, Plaistow Fire-Rescue-EMS, headquartered at 27 Elm Street, responded. When a box alarm went off, on-duty staff were called in and off-duty colleagues were recalled. Within six minutes, Engine 1 and Ambulance 1 arrived and discovered a significant spill that extended a considerable distance. In order to minimise the damage on the environment and safeguard the road, crews promptly started working on spill control. The Sandown Fire Department and the Southeastern New Hampshire Hazardous Materials Mutual Aid District provided support to Plaistow Engine 1, Engine 8, Ambulance 1, and police. The car owner and a cleanup company were given control of the scene after the spill was contained. The region was managed securely thanks to the coordinated reaction.
