At approximately 1550 hours on December 7, 2025, the Burlington County Fire Alarm Room transmitted a box for 22 Sawgrass Drive in the Deerwood development of Westampton Township. The initial report was that a car was on fire in the attached garage. A column of smoke could be seen before companies arrived on location and the incoming units were advised to prepare to go to work on arrival. First in units reported smoke and fire showing from an attached garage of a large 2.5 story wood frame single family dwelling. Westampton Squad Company 27 took the front of the building and stretched the initial 1 3/4” hand line and made the push into the heavily involved garage area leaving room for the Mount Laurel truck company in the front of the building. Mount Laurel Ladder Company 3614 raised their aerial to the roof to cut a vent hole to better channel the products of combustion out of the building.
Several mutual aid departments responded and assisted with water supply, searches, additional attack lines, laddering the building, and ventilation. The fire was placed under control in about thirty minutes. There were no injuries reported and the fire is being investigated by the Westampton FMO.
