Litchfield, NH — December 2 —While city firefighters and other agencies worked at a sixth-alarm fire on Vine Street on Monday, Litchfield Fire Department Engine 1 provided mutual-aid station coverage in Nashua. Nashua personnel and arriving mutual-aid units were able to concentrate on suppression and rescue efforts at the scene thanks to the coverage assignment. During the prolonged response, Engine 1 was still accessible for calls within the city. The deployment served as an example of the robust regional support network in place for major events.
