November 21, 2025 — Firefighters don’t always come to the community—sometimes the community comes to them. Staff from Polk County Fire Rescue at Station 15 recently opened their doors to host a tour for a local preschool group.
During the visit, students learned what it’s like to work at a fire station and what first responders do to help keep their community safe. Firefighters showed off equipment, explained daily operations, and answered questions from the curious young visitors.
Department officials said visits like these help build trust, spark early interest in public safety, and create positive, lasting impressions of first responders within the community.
