November 24, 2025 — A gesture of gratitude made last week a little brighter for local first responders as Yamilet Collazo, Assistant Director of Education at New Direction Academy, generously provided Chick-fil-A breakfast for the Haines City fire department team.

With Thanksgiving week centered on appreciation and giving thanks, department members expressed sincere gratitude for the thoughtful show of support. The unexpected meal served as a meaningful reminder of the strong partnership between educators, first responders, and the community they serve.

Fire officials said moments like these reinforce how deeply valued their crews feel by the people they work to protect every day.
