The Burlington Volunteer Fire Department responded to an incident on Rock Road today involving a tractor-trailer that became entangled with overhead utility lines. Crews arrived to find wires down and a small fire caused by the damaged pole and electrical components. Firefighters worked to secure the scene and extinguish the smoldering debris on the roadside.

Rock Road was closed between Johnnycake Mountain Road and Charolais Way while crews operated and utility companies were requested to assist. Fire officials reminded drivers to follow detours and use caution around work zones where emergency responders and utility personnel are operating near traffic.

No injuries were reported. Burlington firefighters cleared the scene once utilities isolated the hazard and the roadway could be safely reopened.
