Rhinecliff, NY — November 25 — This weekend, two members of the Rhinecliff Fire Department and Rescue Squad took part in a special presentation of the hands-on "First-In Officers' Responsibilities" seminar from the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. The Ulster County Public Safety Training Center held the course on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services.

The first steps that company officers take when they arrive at an emergency, including size-up, communication, resource coordination, and defining priorities, were covered in training conducted by NYSAFC instructors. In order to improve their leadership and decision-making abilities on the fireground, participants worked through real-world scenarios.
