A bystander noticed smoke in the vicinity, prompting the Rhinecliff Fire Department and Rescue Squad to respond to a small brush fire on Astor Drive. Windy conditions made it more likely that the fire would spread, but crews responded swiftly and put it out before it could do so. Firefighters completed the overhaul and ensured the area was fully cooled to prevent rekindling.
