Roosevelt Fire District Honors Volunteers at Annual Inspection Dinner

The Roosevelt Fire District held its Annual Inspection Dinner, recognizing the dedication, professionalism, and volunteer spirit shown by its members throughout the year. The district thanked everyone who contributes to emergency response and community safety, noting the many hours spent in training and on calls.

Station 2 was named Best Appearing Fire Station, while support units 63-45 and 63-71 tied for Best Appearing Support Apparatus, and Engine 63-14 earned Best Appearing Engine. Length of Service awards honored Sarah Schlageter and Craig Schriro for five years at Station 1, William Monnier for 20 years, Gregory Schlageter for 35 years, and Thomas Germano for 50 years. At Station 2, George Carola earned recognition for 15 years, and at Station 3, Seth Butler received his five-year award, and Michael Powers was named a Life Member.

Daniel Hurley was recognized for 20 years, William Steenbergh for 40 years, and William Marshall for 45 years of service. Memorial awards included the Paul Tegtmeier Memorial Award to Janice Ciampaglione.

The Cruger Memorial Award to Dylan Sumski, The Sutton Family Memorial Award to Timothy Jones, the Sue Nichols Memorial Rescue Squad Award to Kevin Brennan, the Monroe Horan Award to George Day, the Walt Steigerwalt Award to Rich Weber, the Station 4 Special Services Award to Jeffrey Elderkin, and The Horton Memorial Chiefs Award to William Marshall.

Major annual recognitions went to Kelly Marshall as Important Person of the Year, Rich Weber as Rookie of the Year, Sal Alhejazien as Firefighter/EMS Person of the Year, and Amanda Ruggieri as Member of the Year. District officials thanked all who attended and expressed appreciation for every volunteer who continues to serve the Town of Hyde Park with dedication and pride.
