The Roosevelt Fire District welcomed members of the Dutchess County Hazmat Team for an annual refresher on hazardous materials operations. Instructors Ken and Deb Davidson, Chris Johnson, Kent Amsten, and Bill Monnier spent the evening reviewing hazmat procedures and demonstrating specialised tools used during chemical, fuel, and unknown-substance incidents.

The session focused on how local fire crews can support hazmat technicians on scene, including establishing zones, gathering information, and maintaining responder safety. Roosevelt Fire District leadership noted that regular training with regional partners strengthens coordination and improves emergency response throughout Dutchess County.
