Roosevelt Fire District responded to a reported porch fire at 60 Holt Road on Tuesday night. Hyde Park Police arrived within minutes and confirmed an active house fire with nearby propane tanks and a shed at risk. The incident was upgraded to a 10-75 working fire as the first engine arrived and began fire attack within three minutes.
Due to fire conditions, a second alarm was requested to bring additional resources. The main body of fire was knocked down in about 45 minutes, followed by extensive overhaul operations. Holt Road remained closed until just after midnight for water supply and apparatus placement.
No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross assisted the residents. The Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division is reviewing the cause.
