Driver Extricated After Collision Resulting in Rollover in Ocala

(OCALA, FL.) Dec. 5, 2022 – On Monday, Dec. 5, at approximately 3:33 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue's Engine 4, Rescue 4, Tower 1, Battalion Chiefs 11 and 22, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to the intersection of SW College Road and SW 27th Avenue where a vehicle accident with rollover was reported.
Units arrived on scene to find a red compact SUV on its roof blocking both southbound lanes of SW 27th Avenue, and a silver sedan parked in a nearby establishment. The occupants of the sedan were ambulatory. The driver of the SUV was trapped.
Medics assessed the driver of the SUV while firefighters stabilized the vehicle and prepared for extrication. Using hydraulic tools, the crew removed both driver’s side doors to gain access to the patient.
The patient was removed and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
No other injuries were reported.
The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
