Attleboro, MA — November 14 —Attleboro Fire Department paramedics underwent pediatric emergency training this week through the Community Outreach Mobile Education Training (C.O.M.E.T.) program, supervised by pediatric emergency specialists from Boston Medical Center. The training, which took place on Thursday, November 13, presented time-sensitive pediatric situations that called for cooperation and quick decision-making using cutting-edge simulation technology. EMS Chief Steve Stellakis remarked that while pediatric calls are less frequent, they require good clinical skills and preparation.

Assistant Chief Dennis Perkins said the training reinforced assessment, communication, and treatment methods for illnesses such as respiratory distress, seizures, trauma, and cardiac arrest. The program helps paramedics maintain certification standards and guarantees continual preparation for situations involving infants and children. According to department officials, the Attleboro Fire Department is still dedicated to providing residents and guests with top-notch care and advanced education.
