Manchester Firefighters Bring Safety Message to Elliot Hospital

Manchester, NH — November 21 — The fire department from the City of Manchester, New Hampshire, came to Elliot Hospital to assist the staff and patients while disseminating crucial risk-reduction information. The outreach featured personnel of the Fire Marshal Division and the department’s mascot, Sparky, who visited children in the pediatric ward for light-hearted activities and interaction.

The visit focused on building trust with families and emphasizing fundamental fire-safety considerations, such as remaining alert of threats at home and knowing when to call for help. Hospital personnel enjoyed the break in routine and the chance for young patients to meet with local firefighters in a positive context. Manchester Fire Department continues to participate in community activities that increase readiness and highlight that everyone plays a role in lowering risk and averting emergencies.
